With better strength at higher temperatures, Stainless steel 422 is an appealing alternative to Stainless 403. It offers ductility and strength from room temperature to 1200°F (649°C) and resists scaling and oxidation to 1400°F (760°C).

Duplex Stainless Steel 329 was one of the earliest duplex steel which is reflected in its higher permitted carbon content. Its resistance to pitting (PREN about 32) and to crevice corrosion is below that of super duplex steels, therefore use in seawater is limited. Exposure to moderate and high temperature and less rapid cooling may cause embrittlement. Accordingly, design stress values in ASME II do not extend above 260°C for S32900. Impact values are high at room temperature. However, the proportion and orientation of ferrite in welds and base material may significantly affect toughness at subzero temperatures.
Duplex Stainless Steel 329 also conforms, or is similar to EN/DIN 1.4460 and 00Cr25Ni5Mo2, SUS 329J1, AISI 329, UNS S32900, Brands SS44, SS 2324, Din X8CrNiMo27-5, ASME SA268, ASTM A268, ASTM A511, SS 14 2324, SIS 14 2324 and 453S

15-5 is a variant of the older 17-4 chromium-nickel-copper precipitation hardening stainless steel. Both alloys exhibit high strength and moderate corrosion resistance. High strength is maintained to approximately 600 degrees F. The 15-5 alloy was designed to have greater toughness than 17-4. This improved toughness is achieved by reduced delta ferrite content and control of inclusion size and shape.

A martinsitic precipitation hardening steel, Custom 450© stainless steel offers high strength combined with excellent corrosion resistance similar to 304 stainless in corrosion resistance with moderate strength similar to that of 410 stainless. As with most precipitation hardened alloys, Custom 450© stainless has excellent transverse properties.
Used when ease of welding and brazing in fabrication is required. Custom 450©, unlike many precipitation hardening grades, Custom 450© can be used in the annealed condition.
Applications: Valve parts, Paper mills, aircraft and power generation, chemical processing, nuclear and space craft.
Heat Treatment: Solution heat treatment, heat at 1875/1925f (1024/1052c cool to below 90f (32c) to allow material to fully martensite. Material can be air cooled, but should be rapidly quenched for best response to aging.
Aging: All solution treated materials: Condition H-900 4hrs and air cool. H-900 offers the best combination of ductility, strength and toughness. H-1150 increases ductility but decreases strength.

Nickel 200, also known as UNS N02200, is considered commercially pure 99% wrought nickel, one of the toughest metals. Its characteristics include excellent mechanical properties, a low gas content, low vapor pressure, magnetic properties, and high thermal and electrical conductivity. These properties and its chemical composition make Nickel 200 fabricatable and highly resistant to corrosive environments. It is useful in any environment below 600° F, as well as highly resistant to corrosion by neutral and alkaline salt solutions. Principal Design Features:
- 13-8 MO is a precipitation, age hardenable stainless steel. It's principal features are high transverse toughness, good resistance to general and stress corrosion cracking, and high strength that is developed by a single low temperature heat treatment.
Applications:
- his alloy has been used in aircraft components such as landing gear and structural sections, valves, shafts, and components in the petrochemical and nuclear industries.
Machinability:
- This is a tough machining stainless steel. Although it can be machined in all conditions, best results can be obtained in condition H1150M. Compared to type 304 stainless, speeds should be roughly 25 % lower for optimum tool life and finish.
Forming:
- This alloy can be formed using conventional techniques with the degree of formability being limited only by its high initial yield strength.
Heat Treatment:
- CONDITION A--Soak at 1700 F (927 C) and cool below 60 F (16 C) for 1 hour. CONDITION RH 950- Treat Condition A material at -100 F(-73C) for 2 hours, air warm to room temperature (within 24 hours of solution treatment). Then heat cold treated material to 950 F(510 C) for 4 hours and air cool. CONDITION H950, H1000, H1050, H1100, H1150- Soak solution treated material for 4 hours at specified temperature, air cool, CONDITION H1150M- Soak solution treated material at 1400 F (760 C) for 2 hours, air cool, then re-heat to 1150 F (620 C) for 4 hours and air cool.
